I. Details of the Event/Activity

The event I attended was the Introduction to Cloud Computing. It was held last September 22, 2022, at 8pm – 9pm via zoom. The goal of the said event was to introduce the basics and foundations of Cloud Computing on AWS. The event was organized by AWS Siklab Pilipinas and Edukasyon.ph and was discuss by the guess speaker who is Ms. Celina Nadine Catindig. This event was approved by Ms. Mary Rose Ofianga the Senior Project Manager of AWS Siklab Pilipinas and Mr. Raphael Francis Quisumbing the AWS Community Hero.

II. Reflections on the Webinar/Activity give rise to (learnings)

This webinar helps me to learn more and expand my knowledge about Cloud Computing. Attending this webinar thought us the basic fundamentals and the special features of Cloud Computing on AWS. In the latest survey AWS got a high rating in terms of Cloud Computing Services because of its safe and secured environment. Modern organizations may benefit from the flexibility, efficiency, scalability, security, enhanced collaboration, and lower costs that cloud computing provides. Although the COVID-19 epidemic has hastened cloud adoption, it is expected to continue in 2022, especially if hybrid work becomes a central role.

III. Reflections on possibilities of implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)

This webinar helps me and other students to understand more the Cloud Computing Services of AWS. The three main types of cloud computing include Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. Each type of cloud computing provides different levels of control, flexibility, and management so that you can select the right set of services for your needs.

IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

It is a successful event even it is only a 1-hour webinar. During the one-hour webinar the guest speaker manage her time well and she discussed all the topics clearly and also explains the topic very well. I hope that they can extend the time of the webinars so the guest speaker can answer all the questions of the students and professionals.

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities

I would suggest that if they can extend the time of webinar because it is only a 1-hour event. The 1-hour webinar is short because sometimes the topic is very wide so that the speaker can’t explain all the details very well and after discussion the guest speaker can’t answer the questions of the students due to time constraints.
